Auction Night !
03rd August 2026
|
The Society's Mid-Year Members Auction is scheduled on Friday 07 August 2026. There will be a number of very rare and collectable plants on offer. This is a not-to-be-missed event! EFTPOS facilities will be available on the night in addition to cash payments. Bidding on auction items is available to all current financial members of the Society – a good reason for you to invite a friend to join the Society this week! Members are invited to bring up to 5 quality plants, pots or related items to be auctioned on the night. - All lots should be clearly identified, and all sales are subject to a 10% commission retained by the Society. - On the night there will be a registration desk for you to collect auction lot numbers which need to be attached to each item. - Please supply the registration desk with your banking details as all monies due to vendors will be processed by EFT to bank accounts in the week following the meeting. - Please also indicate if you wish to place a reserve price on any of the lots offered. We also look forward to the member's table show, with this month's category being plants of the family Crassulaceae. As we are in the lead up to the Society's Spring Show, this will be a valuable opportunity for us to share some tips on getting your plants at their best for the event. FUN FACT: Plants of this family exhibit Crassulacean acid metabolism, also known as CAM photosynthesis, that evolved as an adaptation to arid conditions that allows a plant to photosynthesize during the day, but only exchange gases (e.g. CO2) at night. Our plant raffle will still be on, and raffle tickets will be available to purchase upon entry. This will give members a chance to win a prize if they decide not to bid in the auction. If you would like to donate to the raffle, please ensure you bring quality plants for raffle winners to choose from. The plant raffle will be drawn before general business. We're looking forward to a full evening including updates on all the work behind the scenes from our dedicated committee and sub-committees. See you Friday Night!!!
