The Society has adopted the NSW Fair Trading ‘model’, a set of rules that all associations are required to adopt or adapt their constitution to bring all associations in line with the NSW Fair Trading requirements. The Society’s revised constitution has been submitted to Fair Trading for acceptance. These now supersede any reference to a ‘constitution’ and ‘by-laws’ and are referred to as the ‘rules’.

The Society has a long standing practice of non-disclosure in relation to personal information of members held by the Society. This personal information is used solely by the Society for the conduct of its business and access to it is limited to the members of the Society’s Management Committee and, on a need-to-know basis, to a limited number of other persons who are engaged from time to time to undertake certain activities on behalf of the Society.

The Management Committee has now approved a formal policy.
